Small on weight, big on features. The Free 22 Removable Airbag 3.0 is lightweight and has everything you expect from an avalanche backpack. Our Airbag System 3.0 is dependable, long-lasting and one of the lightest on the market. Orange elements make you more visible from a distance. The carrying system is inspired by trail running vests to keep the weight close to your body so it doesn’t bounce around. Optimized hip and shoulder straps as well as the new 3D-molded back panel offer incredible comfort and a perfect fit. Handy feature: The main compartment is accessible both from the top and conveniently through a zippered opening on the back. Attach your skis or snowboard using the pull straps. Keep your safety equipment in the separate high-visibility orange compartment. The backpack is PFC-free, and the outer fabric and lining are made of recycled material. To top it all off, the Free 22 has useful features such as a helmet holder, side compression straps and loops for your poles.

PFC-free durable water repellent (DWR)
Perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) are often used for waterproofing but are practically non-biodegradable. Mammut is committed to replacing non-biodegradable fabric treatments with more sustainable high-performance alternatives.
