Aku Rock DFS GTX woman shoes

Heir to the historic Rock model, from which it takes the typical construction of the forefoot with the protective band that wraps and protects the midsole in the internal area, it is a footwear for technical approach and light climbing, for vie ferrate and excursions on mountain trails. The new Dual Fit System double lacing system makes it possible to adapt the comfort and precision of the fit in the different phases of use: a traditional lace for maximum comfort when walking and a fast lacing for increased sensitivity when climbing. The Vibram Approcciosa sole with high performance Megagrip compound provides maximum grip with a specific design for climbing. Also available in a women's version tailored to specific female plantar anatomy.

Technologies

AIR8000
AIR 8000 is the first upper construction technology developed and patented by AKU since 1991 to increase the breathability of a mountaineering shoe. Laboratory tests carried out by Gore Tex confirm that the upper made with the exclusive AKU AIR 8000® system offers a level of breathability up to 11.5 times higher than normal standards. Almost 20 years later, the AKU AIR 8000® system remains one of the most advanced technologies for guaranteeing excellent breathability in mountaineering footwear.

HELIX AND THE AKU LAST
Making a last is a long and painstaking process in which AKU's long experience in the design and production of high quality footwear is condensed. Identifying the last in relation to the morphology of the foot is one of the basic criteria in choosing the right footwear. The original AKU last is the matrix, the result of constant research into plantar anatomy. From it, thanks to specific adaptations, derive the different types of shape and fit, which vary according to the different models and the specific function of use of the product. Elica is an integrated system composed of SHAPE - FOOTBED - INSOLE - FOOTBED that traces the anatomical shape of the sole of the foot and follows the normal inclination of the heel and forefoot. The functional value of ELICA technology has been certified by specific tests carried out at the CERISM Centro Studi Salute laboratories of the University of Verona. The tests show how a more homogeneous distribution of foot pressure during stance and thrust phases favours comfort by reducing impact and effort during walking.

GORE-TEX®
The GORE-TEX® membrane contains approximately 1.4 billion microscopic pores per square centimetre.
These pores are approximately 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water, but 700 times larger than a molecule of water vapour. Thus, while water droplets cannot penetrate the GORE-TEX® membrane, water vapour, i.e. sweat in gaseous form, escapes easily.

VIBRAM
Vibram is synonymous with soles for mountaineering footwear, an essential component of product safety and technical performance. Vibram®'s experience is condensed in the research and development of specific compounds for use on different terrains and in different environmental conditions; AKU's contribution is based instead on the design of the tread profile, conceived and designed according to the intended use of the product. This synergy gives rise to soles that AKU adopts on many of its models, generating its own exclusive standard of performance.

Megagrip compound
A special compound designed by Vibram® to offer excellent grip on both dry and wet surfaces. This compound now represents the highest standard in field performance for Vibram compounds dedicated to outdoor and sports footwear.  A perfect mix of grip and durability, Megagrip strikes an excellent balance between stability and flexibility on all types of terrain. AKU adopts the Megagrip compound on some of its highest performance models.
